The compendiums are now only available by buying the DVD. This is to reduce download usage and also it is far better for you to have the DVD in case of computer issues, the cost for Crew is only a little more than the drop ship cost so it seems a much better way of handling things.

We have been running with Invision for a long time now for site/forums/etc but as I do more stuff towards the TLR it is starting to be quite frustrating having to code IP.Forum applications for minor thigs or wrestling with IP.Content's quirks. It is at the point where I can not see the tunnel let alone the light at the end thereof so it may be time to move on, I shudder at learning and implementing a new engine.

The only thing that I see on the marker that may fit is Expression Engine and that's a real big bite of money, looks like I have to chase Auran for outstanding commission.

You will notice that the links to buy TS12 & FCT's are back. If you do not have TS12 please buy using the link there is no difference to your pricing but RBR will receive a commission. This is actually how I just did it from scratch on my internet system.

Although still working out possible issues with all the security code additions v0.6 still is closing RBR to being feature complete apart from TLR.

All my scribbled notes and items on my organiser have been moved to Tracker and I am going to try and have all issues/changes there so that I do not lose track of what needs doing. So the things outside the current plan are The Living Railway and then TS12/SP1 when it is issued.

There are a few smaller tasks that are still outstanding (including the Whistle JATZ trigger hey Norm) I will try and clear the list but at the moment site support is taking quite a bit of time (mainly due to Athena v0.6) hopefully that will calm down and I can start work on an Activity, not a sample code but a real one and do some more coding for the next Athena.

I realise that this has taken far too long but unfortunately the amount and type of code means it takes real effort to get the stuff working, the guys will also tell you the level of change from the old system to Athena make things interesting too.

Anyway I am going to watch some cricket in between more cleanup tasks.

The new Athena is available, this one apart from some iTrainz processing is all about being able to release without TS12/SP1...

Activity compiler will now only allow Developers to create a real Activity
Local Activity builder for non-Developers
Key processing now works via iTrainz
Athena/TS12 share keys both ways as required
Made huge number of hacks to avoid needing TS12/SP1
Added basic demonstration end processing

There are likely some things that may not be perfect with this release, especially message manager will probably have a whine about stuff but they are not likely to affect actual driving.

OK after some enquiries it would appear that TS12/SP1 is still a way off, this means a number of parts of Athena will not work and more the point for RBR we will be unable to 'hide' our security code using GSE. For example asking for an in depth analysis of Athena technology in the FAQ is simply not applicable.

The latest Athena release is available, you will need to download and install Athena, the Core and the sample Activities.

This is a major update and contans (hopefully) all of the core complete. You will notice that in the Windoze client you can input (manually) or download (automatically) your unlock code from RBR. When you save it Athena will let TS12 know your code. Inside TS12 you will see your unlock details in the Activities Menu and the actual Activity list will show whether you are authorised to load the Activity.

One thing, if you try and load a RBR Activity from other than the Activities menu it will refuse your request quite curtly! The Activities menu is the place where you will interact with TLR eventually making it consider other ways in was simply a major drag and so I avoided it

I still have loads to go before starting on TLR stuff but I am hopeful that the guys will be able to start releasing real driving Activities soonish. Most are planning on making the new stuff Crew only so don't say I didn't warn you.

Now I am off to have some lunch and then back outside for farm stuff.

If you have read the posts you know I am progressively moving the Activity Activation codes from RBR itself then to Athena and finally into Trainz for the Activity system to use.
