After a bit of looking it seems that we can support the Mac version of Trainz. I have ante'd up and purchased a refurbished iMac it is the previous model but should be enough to do testing with RBR Assets on the Mac platform. Auran have donated me a copy of the Mac Trainz (saves a few bucks).

What it does mean is that my 7Zip/RBR based files will have to be replaced with CDP (blarg!) as that seems to be the only way to get stuff into the Mac version without writing a Mac version of Athena. So Athena will become a developer tool, I will need to move the planned asset stuff into Trainz (blarg II) and rely on iTrainz exclusively for communications (blarg III).

It shouldn't cause me more than a week or so worth of work to have it working (I hope).

The downside is that for TLR you will need to be online so that RBR Activities can talk to the server via iTrainz. It also means that unlocking (etc) will also be real-time. Well unless either I do it as a PC only add-on with Athena and then see how to do it natively on the Mac.

Like is said BLARG :Alvarin_34:

I think not.

The thing you are missing is that if any assets are on the DLS then they are Mac'able and people are going to turn up wondering why Activities don't work ... you are it the soup one way or another.

One thing to bear in mind, is that the builtin routes for Mac are the T10 ones, and they are totally different from the T12 builtins.
I don't know whether it is intended to use T12 builtin routes for activities, but if so, it would pose a significant problem to Mac users.

Cheers
Brian

I know that you believe that you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realise, that what you heard is not what I meant.
